Name badge fasteners: Know your options

You’ve designed the perfect name badges for your business, carefully considering everything from the colour scheme, to the font, to the shape and size. Before you can proudly pin them to your staff uniforms, however, there’s one final step. You need to decide how you’d like your name badges to attach to clothing.

Magnetic fasteners

Magnetic fasteners are by far our most popular type of name badge fasteners. Magnets are great because they allow badges to sit flush with your clothing. Easy to use, magnetic fasteners don’t leave holes in clothing the way traditional pin fasteners do. They also come in three sizes-small, medium, and large—to fit your particular name badges. The only downside? Magnets aren’t recommended for use if you have a pacemaker.

Pin fasteners

Pin fasteners can be either plastic or metal, to suit your particular badge material. Super easy to use and impossible to lose, pin fasteners are slightly more economical than magnetic fasteners.

Military pin fasteners

Military pins are generally used for lapel pins and, as the name suggests, military badges that are worn on very thick, heavy-duty uniforms. Military pins are distinguished by their ‘butterfly clip’. Small lapel pins are equipped with a single pin, while larger, rectangular badges are equipped with two pins.
